ACCOMMODATION

  • Over 38 hotels contracted with a total inventory of 1400 rooms under our direct responsibility for the NOC programmes alone
  • Further 1000 rooms under our management on behalf of Millennium Partners
  • Guests on fully inclusive arrangements numbered over16,000 including those on Millennium Partner 2 and 3 night waves
  • Large ticket only client profile particularly from New Zealand
  • Over 125,000 event tickets on NOC programme alone with a further 100,000 on Millennium Partner programme, requiring dedicated staff in the Ticketing Team numbering over 20, which was in operation for 3 months prior to Games on-site, and 3 years prior to Games in run up period.

TRANSPORT

Over 100 buses contracted and managed using 26 man Transportation Management Team, contracted from worldwide experts and set up in Australia under Sportsworld direction.

STAFFING

Of the nearly 400-strong staffing team recruited for the Games, many had previous experience in other events and were contracted to travel to Australia for the duration of the Games. All were put through a 10 day training programme prior to Games, the most intensive we have ever undertaken.
