Tickets Terms and Conditions
Please read the terms and conditions set forth below carefully. By purchasing Individual Ticket(s), you confirm that you have read, understood and accept the following terms and conditions
Definitions:
- “BOCOG” means the Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad and includes its directors, officers, employees, consultants, contractors, agents, and volunteers.
- “Premier” means Premier Events Group Limited, a Company registered in New Zealand at Level 2, 11 York Street, Parnell, Auckland designated as the Official Ticket Sales Agent/Official Hospitality Provider by The New Zealand Olympic Committee (“NZOC”).
- “Customer,” “you” or “your” means the Person who has ordered from Premier for one or more Tickets. If the Customer transfers any Ticket to a third party Ticket Bearer, the Customer has the obligation to inform such Ticket Bearer of his or her rights and responsibilities under these terms and conditions.
- “Event” means the period of time at a Venue for which a single Ticket has been sold. An Event may be for the Opening or Closing Ceremony for the Games, or an Event may be a period of time during which one or more Sports or competitions for the Games are held, depending upon the Ticket that has been sold.
- “Games” means the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, as well as each sporting or cultural Event included in the Official BOCOG Games Program.
- “IOC” means the International Olympic Committee and includes its directors, officers, employees, consultants, contractors, agents, and volunteers.
- “NOC” means the various National Olympic Committees representing their countries with respect to the Games and the Olympic movement.
- “Ticket Offer Acknowledgement” means the official confirmation sent by Premier via e-mail, fax or letter, confirming the “request for tickets by the Customer or a by way of a completed Event Ticket Request form faxed to Premier.) The Customer is subject to the payment terms indicated on the Ticket Offer Acknowledgement.)
- “Person” means an individual, partnership, firm, corporation, association, trust, unincorporated organization, or other entity.
- “Ticket Offer” means the official confirmation sent by Premier via e-mail, fax or letter, confirming the purchase of Individual Tickets submitted through the Internet (directly by the Customer where the selected method of payment is credit card and what the Customer was charged for the Individual Tickets . A Ticket Offer is also the official confirmation sent by Premier via e-mail, fax or letter, confirming that payment by has been received by Premier.
- “Price Category Substitutions” mean a substitution of a Ticket for an Event in a lower price category than the price category of the Ticket originally requested by the Customer.
- “RMB” means Chinese Yuan Renminbi, the local currency in China (also abbreviated as CNY).
- “Session” means an Event or group of Events of the Games for which Type I or Type II Tickets have been issued by BOCOG. It is the period of time during which the Games are held, and includes an Olympic Ceremony and/or one or more competitions pertaining to one or more specific disciplines and to which the Ticket, purchased here, refers.
- “Sport” means a category of athletic competitions for the Games in connection with which Events are held.
- “Ticket” means a printed card or paper that entitles the holder admission to a Sporting Event or to the Opening or Closing Ceremony.
- “Ticket Bearer” means a Person who holds admission toa Sporting Event or Ceremony Event and has a valid Ticket to such event. A Ticket bearer may also be a Customer, or a person other than the Customer.
- “Ticket Request” means a request to purchase Tickets.
- “Type I Tickets” means Tickets that are anticipated to be in high demand and classified by BOCOG and the IOC as Type I Tickets.
- “Type II Tickets” means all Tickets other than Type I Tickets and Opening and Closing Ceremonies Tickets.
- “Venue” means the official site for a particular Event.
INDIVIDUAL TICKETS - Prices, Payment and Procedures
Quantity Limitations:
You may request a maximum of eight (8) Tickets to any individual session of any Event and a maximum of two (2) Tickets to Opening or Closing Ceremonies for a maximum of forty-eight (48) tickets per individual order.
For any Events where requests exceed available inventory, Ticket Requests will be allocated by a random selection process. Subject to the quantity limitations stated above, we will allocate to you as many of the tickets you requested as we have available, and you will receive a Ticket Offer of the tickets we were able to allocate within 4-6 weeks of receiving your initial Ticket Request. If unavailable, Premier will attempt to substitute a lower Price Category within the same Event to fulfill the initial request.
For example:
- If you request a Category A Ticket and it is not available, we will then try to confirm a Category B Ticket, then a Category C Ticket.
- If you request a Category B Ticket and it is not available, we will then try to confirm a Category C Ticket, but we will not try to confirm a Category A Ticket.
- If a lower Price Category is not available, but a higher Price Category is available, we may contact you to see if you are willing to pay for the higher Price Category.
Confirmations:
1) A Ticket Offer Acknowledgement of your Ticket Request will be sent to the Customer within 14 days upon processing of the Customer’s request. This will confirm the Tickets that you have requested and the amount you will be charged. This acknowledgment does not guarantee Tickets or constitute any commitment on the part of Premier to allocate said tickets to customer. Important: Once a Ticket Request is submitted the Ticket Request is final and Ticket Requests can not be cancelled by the Customer for any reason or cause whatsoever and the amount paid herewith is not refundable (with the exception of allocation fulfillment as described below).
2) Within 4-6 weeks, we will send you a Ticket Offer e-mail with your actual ticket allocation, and the amount that we have charged you.
Opening & Closing Ceremony Tickets:
In consideration of the significance of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, all person(s) who have successfully purchased the tickets for the ceremonies may be required to submit their photos (the submission deadline and methods will be published separately) and only the person themselves will be allowed to enter the stadium. Persons who cannot submit photo’s pursuant to the submission terms and rules will be deemed as automatically waiving the tickets they had booked and the payment will be refunded. The transfer of tickets for Opening or Closing Ceremony shall be approved by Premier in writing and meet the required legitimate formalities (which will be published separately). Any transfer which does not meet the required terms of rules published by Premier/BOCOG will result in the ticket holder not being allowed to enter the stadium and Premier/BOCOG will not be responsible.
Prices: Ticket prices and conditions for sale are established by BOCOG. Ticket prices are converted from RMB to NZD Dollars at a fixed exchange rate of 5.481 and is inclusive of a 20% service fee for tickets with a face value of NZD $390.00 or less and a flat charge of NZD $85.00 for tickets with a face value greater than
NZD $390.00. A bank processing fee is added, to establish the ‘total” ticket price. Fulfillment fees are added per order at a fla charge of NZD21, and shipping that will be charged per order at a rate of NZD55 for shipment from China to New Zealand.
Pricing Definitions:
- RMB to local currency conversion: In order to maintain the consistent pricing throughout the pre-Olympic sales period, Premier has agreed to fix the exchange rate used to convert prices from RMB to NZD. That fixed rate was taken from RMB to NZD exchange rates published at www.oanda.com in effect on Friday 23 March, 2006. The conversion rate used reflects that fixed exchange rate plus an agreed upon allowance for currency fluctuation.
- Commission: Commission rate used is the rate allowed under our General Sales Agreement with BOCOG.
- Bank Fees: Bank fees include fees charged by our merchant account provider plus additional fees charged by the banks for the processing of the funds.
- Fulfillment charges – Fulfillment charges cover the costs of handling the ticket inventory, including procurement, management, on site pick up, secure storage, sorting, allocation and tracking.
Payment:
The Olympic Tickets and all other associated fees must be paid in full before any order is processed. Payments on our website must be made by credit card only (NZ issued Visa or Mastercard) and will be charged in New Zealand Dollars.
- Credit Card Payments – your credit card will be charged upon submitting your Ticket Request. If your credit card is declined your Ticket Request will immediately be canceled. Please Note: VISA is the Preferred Credit Card of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
- Payment by cheque – please obtain a Ticket Request form, (download from Premier website or contact Premier Events) complete and send with your cheque, made payable to Premier Events to: Premier Events Group, PO Box 137071, Parnell 1052, Auckland.
Order Cancellations and Refunds:
Refunds
Will ONLY be granted if 40% or less of your initial Ticket Request is confirmed.
For example:
- If you request 10 tickets and only 4 are confirmed, you may request a refund.
- If you request 10 tickets and 5 or more are confirmed, your Ticket Request is assessed as fulfilled and a refund will only be granted for the tickets that we were not able to allocate to you.
- Price Category substitutions are considered fulfillment of the Ticket Request by Premier and will not be counted as part of the percentage of unconfirmed Tickets.
We will contact you if we are unable to allocate 40% or more of your Initial Ticket Request. You will be given the option to proceed with the allocation or cancel. If you proceed with the allocation you will only be charged for the tickets we were able to allocate to you.
If you proceed with cancellation:
All cancellation requests must be in writing and received within 5 business days after we have contacted you.

In accordance with the above conditions, refunds will be processed via your provided method of payment, minus a processing fee of NZD $50.00.
Note: All sales are final and Ticket orders cannot be cancelled by the Customer for any reason or cause whatsoever and the amount paid herewith is not refundable after the expiration of the 5 business day time period.
If you do not cancel in writing, we will fulfill whatever portion we can and you will only be charged for the tickets we were able to allocate to you.
If Premier does fulfill at least 40% of your request, we will do so without further communication, and you will only be charged for the tickets we were able to allocate to you.
Seating:
For Tickets processed within the same Individual Ticket Order, Premier will attempt to seat your party together. However, seat assignments cannot be guaranteed either by location in the Venue, nor for persons traveling together. Seat locations will not be known in advance of ticket collection.
For Tickets not processed within the same Individual Ticket Order, you can request via e-mail t o mail@premiereventsgroup.com that your party is seated together, and Premier will attempt to fulfill your request. However, Premier Events cannot guarantee its ability to seat your party as such.
Event Travel Time:
When making Event selections, Customer should allow enough time to get to each Event. Customer should make sure there is no overlap in time and that ample travel time has been calculated between Events. Premier recommends that you allow 2 hours before the start of each event, plus travel time. Premier will not be responsible for an Event or portion of Event missed by the Ticket holder.
Spectators with Disabilities:
Any disability requiring special attention must be reported at time of ordering. Premier will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the needs of disabled Customers but is not responsible for inability to accommodate, or delay or denial of service by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other suppliers. Most motor coaches are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. Premier cannot give individual assistance for walking, dining, getting on/off vehicles or other needs. A qualified companion must accompany any Customer needing assistance.
Children and Infants:
Children two years old or under may enter the stadium or venuemwithout a ticket. However, they shall share the seat with their guardians.
Ticket Shipping:
BOCOG have advised that tickets will be shipped from China in June of 2008. Subject to BOCOG meeting this deadline (and allowing for checking and packing processes), tickets will then be shipped to the recipient via secured common carrier that will require a signature upon receipt. The Customer must include a valid New Zealand street address for delivery purposes at the time of request and the Customer is responsible for keeping Premier informed of any changes to that address. While Premier will attempt to notify you of anticipated delivery times, the Customer also has the sole responsibility to arrange for an authorized representative of the Customer to be present at the delivery address to receive the delivered Tickets for admission to an Event. Premier has no obligation or liability whatsoever for any failure by the Customer to fulfill his or her responsibilities.
Once the Tickets are collected by the Customer or delivered by Premier, the Customer is solely responsible for safeguarding all Tickets. Tickets are valuable and should be treated like currency. Tickets that are lost, stolen, forgotten, mutilated or destroyed will not be replaced. Tickets that are unreadable due to mutilation of any kind will not be accepted for admission.
Residency:
In order to purchase Individual Ticket(s) from Premier, you must maintain a residence in New Zealand and a NZ issued Credit card.
Transferability:
Customer is authorized to transfer Individual Tickets to a Ticket bearer who is employed by the Customer or is a family member or friend of, or has a pre-existing business relationship with, the Customer. A Customer is not authorized to resell Tickets for monetary gain or to promote itself as a reseller of Tickets, or to use Tickets for any promotional, sweepstakes or contest purpose which would violate the provisions of the BOCOG Purchase Policy.
Commission:
Individual Tickets sold to Travel Agents or third party agenciesnare not commissionable.
Condition of Sale:
The purchase of tickets for events at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing does not include travel to Beijing or include the right to accommodation.
Other Terms and Conditions:
All purchases of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Ticket and Hospitality and will be subject to any terms and conditions imposed by the BOCOG Terms and Conditions for the Sale and Use of Tickets and BOCOG Spectator Policies, hereby incorporated into these Terms and Conditions of Sale, as well as any terms and conditions imposed by the International Olympic Committee (“IOC”), the Organising Committee of the XXIXth Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (“BOCOG”), or the New Zealand Olympic Committee (“NZOC”). The terms referred to in this paragraph prevail to the extent of any inconsistency with these terms and conditions and can be obtained from www.premiereventsgroup.com.
Any ticket holder who enters in specific area, whether outside of or within the stadium or very area, shall comply with the rules for ticket holdrs published by BOCOG and the Rules and Regulations printed on the reverse side of the tickets.
If a competition or event is cancelled, the ticket holder may apply for a refund after the Beijing Olympic Games. Such ticket holder shall submit an application form to BOCOG with his/her signature affixed on the tickets. The application form must be postmarked no later than 30 September 2008. BOCOG will not pay any interest on the refund.
The ticket holder shall undertake all risks and dangers which the ticket holder may face while attending any competition or event. The ticket holder accepts that there are risks on the way to and from the bus station or parking area and the stadium or venue, the situation on surface or underground, collision with athletes, volunteers, and staff of BOCOG or other ticket holders. The ticket holder hereby clearly states that he will undertake all these risks or dangers. The ticket holder will undertake all risks regarding the possibility of not seeing any specific athlete due to the delay or cancellation of any competition or event. The ticket holder will further undertake all risks of loss properties in the stadium.
The ticket holder agrees that the tickets will not be used for any politics, advertisement or promotion. The ticket holder shall not solicit donation, circulate the propaganda material or leaflets or promote any commodities in the stadium. Ticket holder is further prohibited from wearing or taking any goods or clothing for political advertising or promotional intentions into the stadium. Any propaganda or demonstration related to religion or race is prohibited in the stadium or venue. Any person who violates the above regulations will be required to immediately leave the stadium without any refund.
The ticket holder agrees that IOC, BOCOG, Premier, and their authorized third parties may use photos, video recording, sound recordings or other images resembling of such ticket holder without any compensation. The ticket holder further agrees that, under no circumstances will he/she distribute images, sounds or vides he takes related to Beijing 2008 Olympic Games by camera, video machine, video tape recorder and/or photographic video recording or sound recording equipment or any other measures through any channels for business purposes.
The ticket holder is not allowed to carry weapons; ammunition, dangerous articles, or explosive chemical or flammable devises outside or within the stadium or venue and all of the above articles are not allowed to be deposited in the stadium or venue. Any ticket holder who possesses any forbidden articles or devices will be required to immediately leave the stadium and will not received a refund. Any ticket holder who is in possession of any illegal article or device will be investigated. The ticket holder shall undergo inspection for forbidden articles and devises and any other security inspection implements by BOCOG. The ticket holder who rejects the security inspection or refuses to comply with rules and security notice published by BOCOG will be required to immediately leave the stadium. Under all these circumstances the ticket holder and related ticket buy will not be given a refund. BOCOG reserves the right to refuse entrance of such person within the proximity of or into the
stadium and or expel him out of the stadium or venue. Anyone with the competition or event by BOCOG, who is disturbing the comfort or safety of other ticket holders, shall be required to immediately leave the stadium and shall not receive a refund.
Each ticket holder will only be allowed one entrance per ticket. If the ticket holder leaves the stadium or venue for any reason, the same ticket may not be used to re-enter the stadium or venue.
The ticket buyer agrees that BOCOG may adjust competition or event schedule, ticket price and other specific regulations according to the organization and preparation of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and IOC without taking any responsibility on issuance by BOCOG or Premier of any notice or distribution of such notci to the ticket buys.
Website Pricing and Typographical Errors:
While Premier strives to provide accurate product and pricing information, pricing or typographical errors may occur. In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to an error in pricing or product information, Premier shall have the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. In the event that an item is mispriced, Premier may, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.
